Online dating offers people a number of relationship types to choose from. These types can be distinguished according to types of online dating sites. So, sites mainly differ from each other by sexual orientation, religious beliefs, race, nationality, territorial/country belonging of their members.

Correspondingly relationships could be based on sexual orientation. I.e. homosexuals look for matches of same sex. As a rule they look for long-term relations, but which are not aimed at getting married in future (at because gay marriages are prohibited in most countries). Heterosexuals in their turn can seek for any type of relationships whether for friendship (yes, this happens), sex, or for getting married and having children.

For some online dating sites religion is on the first place. These sites attract people of same religion who want to get stable and long-term relationships.

So, when a person is determined about what kind of relationships he/she is looking for it’s really important to choose the proper dating service/site and… to be aware of dating scams. As a rule scammers figure out credulous people who look for love and highly spiritual relationships, and start duping them for their selfish ends.

It doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t use online dating services. But being careful is a must anyway.
