The Legacy of Giorgio Armani
No one really knows how the decisions we make today will affect our outcome. It was a twist of fortune that took Giorgio Armani away from his initial goal of becoming a doctor, and set him on the route to fashion icon status. After two years of medical school and a brief period of time in the Italian military, it would be a window dressing job in a fancy clothing store that altered his life forever.
After working as a designer for several years, Armani finally began his own mens apparel line in 1974. Briefly thereafter, womenswear followed. This is the beginning of the stylemark tailoring and clean lines that Armani would subsequently become international famous for.
It wasn’t until he dressed Richard Gere for the movie American Gigolo in 1980, that Giorgio Armani ultimately got his big break. After that, he became a fashion staple, dressing celebrities for award shows and showing his designs on at red carpet events. Eventually, the Armani name became synonymous with Hollywood glamour.
Although Giorgio Armani is well known for pricey couture apparel, red carpet gowns, and amazing suits, the latest collection of Giorgio Armani eyeglasses is designed to accomodate different budgets so many people can afford to wear his signature style.
