The revamping of airline travel and hospitality was triggered by Mr Nicholas Bredimus, who brought them together with the computer industry to establish something new. His career highlights include time-saving computer programs, aircraft safety improvements, and even the design of upmarket houses. Bredimus has brought true passion to any and all fields, too. His pedigree tells you all you might want to know about the source of his skills and the amount he has done. Its lines can be followed all the way into ancient history and in fact Nicholas’ lineage has associations with several countries within Europe. Following the maternal branch, for example, he can boast German and Scottish stock. An equally broad mingling dominates the paternal branch — ahead of emigrating in the late nineteenth century, the family lived in England and Luxembourg. And after their arrival in America, they kept their uncompromising work ethic and determination to survive and thrive. Nicholas, along with his two brothers and four sisters, was a child of a father who earned a living as a mechanical design engineer and a mother who was a practicing nurse. He would live for many years in towns across four states; Arizona, Missouri, Virginia and Texas.
He’s worked in prestigious roles with businesses across the air travel industry — most of them major names. Among these was included the position of Vice President for Hughes Airwest, Republic Airlines, and even Trans World Airlines (TWA). Even with these accomplishments, the airline industry has felt the need to thank him, above all, for the work he has done in software design. He is best known for a particular project, namely his airplane maintenance programs which come into use by the majority of air carrier companies. But this was just one of his major creations for the hotel sector and for airlines. His booking software is on its way to stand alongside the airplane maintenance program in ubiquity, and the hotel reservation application he masterminded provided the opportunity for a great number of hotels to implement a pc based architecture. And next would come an online, networked system for ticket ordering that stands as a first. He parlayed these achievements into posts which weren’t explicitly connected to software design. Nicholas managed American Express’ IT wing, established Bredimus Systems in the early nineties, and became the first president of American Airlines’ AMR Travel Services. And is he still active? Certainly — his intelligence is called upon and at the ready no matter his having left prior interests behind. His attention has turned to the architectural matters bound up in the emergence of environmentally neutral, high tech superior condos.
